MCI2 began in 2011 around a lunch table when a group of childhood friends returned to Miles City with their families to start careers and businesses and began to meet monthly to reminisce about old times and discuss the paths and places they lived before returning to their hometown. Oftentimes these discussions centered on some of the amenities they enjoyed in the other communities where they had resided. “Wouldn’t it be great if we could bring some of those things to Miles City?”
Talking eventually led to action and the group began looking for positive ways to improve their community. Those early projects were small, but wildly fulfilling and over the next several years many weekends were spent together completing such projects as the dugouts in Jaycee Park, a folf course at Milwaukee Park, and a playground at Blue Star Park on Haynes Ave.
Interest in the little group began to grow and in 2013 a non-profit was created and a board was chosen to lead the growing membership. In 2014, the creation of the “original” black license plate gave MCI2 the resources to complete larger projects and continues to allow it to be a meaningful source of support to our community.
